Skills Bootcamp in Green Skills

Delivered in partnership with Leicester City Council, the Skills Bootcamp in Green Skills is a funded four-week training programme helping qualified electricians and employers develop the expertise to install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and electric vehicle (EV) charge points.

Participants complete two Level 3 qualifications plus a Safe Isolation CPD unit, gaining the technical knowledge to meet growing industry demand for sustainable energy solutions.

The programme supports both employed and self-employed electricians — helping businesses expand their service offering, strengthen compliance, and increase profitability.

Maximise Funded Training

Leicester City Council funds up to 90% of costs for SMEs and 70% for large employers, keeping investment low while returns grow.

Funding & Eligibility

This programme is funded by Leicester City Council through the Government’s Skills for Life initiative.

Fully-funded if self-employed
SMEs contribute 10% of the cost
Large employers contribute 30%

To qualify, participants must:

✔️ Be 19 or over (on or before 31 August 2025)

✔️ Have the right to work in the UK and meet residency requirements

✔️ Live or work in Leicester or Leicestershire

✔️ Already hold an NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification with AM2 and an ECS Gold Card
