Overview

This is an ideal starting point for anyone looking to build a career in catering. As an Apprentice Kitchen Assistant at Restful Homes Group, you will support the kitchen team in delivering a high-quality, nutritious catering service that directly benefits the residents in our care.


You will gain practical experience in food preparation, kitchen hygiene and teamwork in a busy but supportive environment, laying the groundwork for a fulfilling career in catering or hospitality.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious, well-balanced and attractive meals in line with residents' individual dietary needs

  • Handle and store food safely in accordance with food hygiene regulations

  • Use cleaning materials correctly and in accordance with COSHH regulations

  • Clean all work surfaces, equipment, fridges, ovens and floors, and store items correctly after use

  • Ensure store rooms are kept well organised and clean at all times

  • Wash crockery and cutlery or operate the dishwasher, ensuring all items are clean and dry before storing

  • Assist in promptly putting away supplies delivered to the home

  • Support with the ordering of supplies when requested to do so

  • Communicate effectively with team members and contribute positively to a team working environment

  • Attend training sessions as and when required

Salary:

National Living Wage, dependent on age

Flexible 37.5-hour working week
