Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a warm, person-centred care home team and build a rewarding career in activities coordination. As an Apprentice Activities Coordinator at Restful Homes Group, you will play a vital role in improving the daily lives of residents by designing and delivering engaging activities that support their physical, cognitive and social wellbeing.


You will work closely with residents, their families and the wider care team to create a vibrant, inclusive environment where every individual feels valued, stimulated and supported.

Duties

  • Plan, design and deliver programmes of activities tailored to the needs and preferences of residents, in consultation with residents, their relatives and the care team

  • Engage residents in creative, social and brain-training activities such as arts and crafts, word games, prize bingo, balloon activities and community outings

  • Mentally and physically stimulate residents and encourage participation in a sensitive and supportive way

  • Adapt to different environments and support residents living with dementia or challenging behaviours with confidence and compassion

  • Build and maintain links with the local community and develop effective working relationships with external organisations

  • Assist with fundraising activities and events to support resident entertainment and outings

  • Support residents' religious and cultural practices by arranging appropriate visits and activities

  • Use IT systems to support activity planning and record keeping

  • Work effectively both as part of a team and independently

Salary:

National Living Wage, dependent on age

Hours:

Flexible 37.5-hour working week (including alternate weekends, 8am–4pm)
