Workpays have been working as the Kickstart Gateway for Frederick Cooper, and the company have since taken on a number of young people through the Scheme. They’re acting as a model employer, extending the hours of their Kickstarters from 25 to 39.
Jai Purewal from Frederick Cooper said: ‘At Frederick Cooper we are delighted to be working with Workpays and the Government’s Kickstart scheme to provide work opportunities to young people at risk of long- term unemployment. As well as the broader social benefits from the scheme, we as a business also benefit in terms of funding support to cover the first 6 months employment (25 hours per week per employee); we have decided to top these hours up to 39 hours a week to allow new starters to gain a true understanding of what it’s like to work full- time, and of course to earn more money in the process.’
