Work Coach

What is your role at Workpays?

As a Work Coach I am responsible for a number of participants. My job is wide ranging, it includes help with job search, pastoral support, acting as the link between different parts of the Workpays Service and staying in touch with the participants for some time after they have progressed.

What did you do before Workpays?

I was a Work Programme Advisor for People Plus.

What is your proudest moment professionally?

There's been a few occasions where learners have returned to the office to thank myself and the team for helping them to break out of a very difficult period in their lives. I've even received flowers before which was wonderful. There is nothing better than watching someone turn their life around.

What is your proudest moment personally?

It has to be passing my driving test, what a relief.

What do you do for fun?

I love spontaneous trips to the countryside and spending time with my family. I also have a cat called Spooks, she's the best.

If you could have one super power, what would it be?

Time travel, but I'd also like to be invisible. It would come in really handy at times.

Give an interesting fact about yourself...

I used to be a sea cadet, and I can also say the alphabet backwards.

What is one item you can't live without?

My phone.

What is your life motto?

If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again.
